Broad-bodied Chaser - Glebe
The Broad-bodied Chaser (Latin name: Libellula depressa)

This dragonfly prefers shallow areas of water and is often the first to colonise new ponds as in this photograph of a male resting by a small pond, more like a large puddle, on Grebe cliffs, near Tintagel, North Cornwall. Both sexes appear "fat" with a broad abdomen, the females have brown abdomens unlike the male's blue but both have yellow spots along the segment sides.
